In recent years the significance of it has really changed for me, initially largely because I was diving into Roman Catholic understandings, and discovering Mary and the other Saints in a fresh way for me.
I have so many avenues of thinking about this topic I'll try and collect some of them into a coherent shortish reply another day.
I have been toying with the idea of piecing together a Eucharistic liturgy of a different type. I've been recently enjoying variations of traditional prayers with more of a focus on Goddess and Earthy concepts and have started to think of what it could be like to do Eucharist with those sorts of elements.
